• Results in abnormal movement, coordination and balance
• Korsakoff syndrome:
• Abnormal behavior:
• Results in confusion, loss of memory, and loss of intellectual abilities

With treatment, symptoms of Wernicke's disease resolve, but symptoms of Korsakoff syndrome remain.
