Wegener's Granulomatosis Evaluation
An evaluation of Wegener's granulomatosis begins with a history and physical examination. ![]()
Physical findings in someone with Wegener's granulomatosis may include:
- Conjunctivitis

- Ulcers around the nose or mouth

- Wegener's granulomatosis rash
A tissue biopsy is required to confirm the diagnosis of Wegener's granulomatosis. Other tests are used to help determine the severity of Wegener's granulomatosis.
Tests that may be used to evaluate Wegener's granulomatosis include:
- Bone marrow aspiration

- May be helpful
- Bronchoscopy

- Used to obtain a tissue specimen for biopsy
- Chest x-ray:
- May be normal

- May reveal infiltrates or cavity formation

- Urinalysis
