Weakness and Fatigue Home Care
Home care for weakness or fatigue includes:
- Avoid alcohol.
- Avoid nonprescription medications.
- Stop smoking
- Avoid exposure to secondary smoke
- Eat a healthy diet:
- Get plenty of rest.
- Get regular exercise.
- Weight loss if you are overweight.
- Iron supplements
- Vitamin B supplements
- Take prescribed medications as directed:
Weakness and Fatigue Warning Signs
Notify your doctor if you have weakness or fatigue and any of the following:
- Abdominal pain
- Difficulty breathing
- Worsening headaches
- Unintentional weight loss
- Fever over 101 degrees F (38.3 C)
- Blood in the stool:
Seek care immediately for weakness or fatigue and:
- Chest pain
- Vomiting blood
- Vomiting material that looks like coffee grounds
- Sudden weakness in one arm or leg:
- Facial weakness (unilateral):
- Difficulty speaking
- Difficulty swallowing
- Difficulty walking
- Change in vision:
