Vulvar Cancer Stages

Five main stages of vulvar cancer include:

  • Stage 0:
    • Cancer is limited only in the outer layers of skin
  • Stage 1:
    • Cancer is limited to the vulva and surrounding skin, and measures less than 2 cm in size
  • Stage 2:
    • Cancer is limited to the vulva and surrounding skin, but the tumor is greater than 2 cm in size
  • Stage 3:
    • Cancer has spread to the vagina, urethra, anus, or the lymph nodes in the groin
  • Stage 4:
    • Cancer has spread to the bladder, bowel, pelvic bone, pelvic lymph nodes, or other parts of the body
