A person with Von Willebrand's disease has an inherited disease that prevents the blood from clotting normally. Those with Von Willebrand's disease have inadequate amounts of Von Willebrand factor in the bloodstream. The Von Willebrand factor is necessary for platelets to form a blood clot.
