Home care for a vision change may include:
  • Take frequent breaks from reading.
  • Use artificial tears for dry eyes.
  • Provide plenty of light for reading.
  • Use reading glasses.
  • Avoid exposure to dust.
  • Avoid rubbing your eyes.
  • Avoid non-prescription eye drops:
  • Wear sunglasses that block ultraviolet light.
  • Follow your doctor's instructions if you use contact lenses.
  • Get regular eye examinations after age 40.
  • Take prescribed medications as directed.
