What is vertigo?
A person with vertigo has the sensation of spinning. The spinning sensation is worse with movement of the head, but may also occur while the body is still. Labyrinthitis, benign positional vertigo, and motion sickness are the most common causes for vertigo. Vertigo may be confused with dizziness, which is a sensation of faintness or lightheadedness.
