Physical findings in a female with a vaginal injury may include:

• Abrasions to the labia or vagina
• Laceration to the labia or vagina
• Swelling of the labia or vagina
• Tenderness of the labia or vagina
• Vaginal bleeding
• Hematuria:
• Blood in the urine
• Red or pink urine
• Blood clots in the urine
• Contusions

Tests that may be used to evaluate a vaginal injury include:

• Complete blood count
• Pelvic ultrasound
• CT scanning of the abdomen
• CT scan of the pelvis
• MRI scan of the abdomen and pelvis
• Urinalysis
• Vaginal culture
• X-rays of the pelvis
