The evaluation of uveitis begins with a history and eye examination.

Physical findings in someone with uveitis may include:

• Decreased visual acuity:
• Blurry vision
• Elevated pressure in the eye
• Eye redness
• Small or abnormally shaped pupil

Tests are not necessary to make the diagnosis of uveitis.

Tests that may be used to evaluate uveitis may include:

• Serum ANA titers
• Rheumatoid factor
• LE cell prep
• Erythrocyte sedimentation rate
• Toxoplasmosis titer
