Ulnar Neuritis Overview
What is ulnar neuritis?
A person with ulnar neuritis has inflammation of the ulnar nerve in the arm, which results in hand numbness or hand weakness. Ulnar neuritis is usually caused by activities that place constant pressure against the ulnar nerve at the elbow or wrist. Ulnar neuritis may also be caused by repetitive motion at the elbow or wrist. 
What are the symptoms of ulnar neuritis?
Symptoms of ulnar neuritis include elbow pain and tenderness, forearm pain, hand numbness (unilateral), and hand weakness (unilateral).
How does the doctor treat ulnar neuritis?
Treatment for ulnar neuritis may include rest, an elbow splint, a sling, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications. Severe ulnar neuritis may require injections of corticosteroid medication, or surgery.
