Tinea Pedis Underlying Cause
Fungi are normally present on the skin. Tinea pedis is caused by overgrowth of fungi on the skin of the feet.

Fungi that cause tinea pedis include:
  • Trichophyton rubrum
  • Trichophyton mentagrophytes
  • Epidermophyton floccosum
