Tinea Faciei Underlying Cause
Fungi are normally present on the skin. Tinea faciei is caused by overgrowth of fungi on the skin of the face.

Fungi that cause tinea faciei include:
  • Trichophyton rubrum
  • Trichophyton mentagrophytes
  • Microsporum canis
