What is tinea corporis?
A person with tinea corporis has inflammation of the skin caused by a fungal infection. The infection causes a rash that forms red or pink rings on the skin. Even though the infection is not caused by a worm, the rings have led to the name, ringworm. Tinea corporis is more common in warm climates. With treatment, tinea corporis usually resolves within 2 weeks. Images
