What is a tick bite?
A person with a tick bite has an injury to the skin from a tick. Ticks can transmit infections to humans, which are called tick borne illnesses. Although tick bites are common, transmission of an infection from a tick bite is relatively rare. Tick borne illnesses include Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain spotted fever, ehrlichiosis, and Colorado tick fever. Most tick bites heal within 10 days. Images
