What is thrush?
A person with thrush has inflammation to the lining of the mouth and throat, caused by a fungal infection. Thrush is common in infants and younger children. About 25 percent of infants develop thrush during the first 3 months of life. In adults, it tends to occur only in those who have a weak immune system. Occasionally, it may be a medication side effect of antibiotic therapy or chemotherapy. Images
