• Chest
• Extremities
• Face
• Neck
• Arching of the back
• Lockjaw:
• Clenched teeth
• Difficulty breathing
• Excessive drooling
• High blood pressure
• Fever
• Rapid pulse

Tests are necessary to make the diagnosis of tetanus.

Tests that may be used to evaluate tetanus include:

• Wound culture
• Complete blood count
