A person with tenosynovitis has inflammation of the soft tissues surrounding a tendon. The tissues surrounding the tendon are referred to as the tendon sheath. In some cases, tenosynovitis may be due to a bacterial infection of the tendon sheath. ![]() What are the symptoms of tenosynovitis? Symptoms of tenosynovitis include pain, tenderness, and swelling around a tendon. The pain worsens with movement. The skin over the tendon may also become red and warm.
