Physical findings in someone with a tarantula bite may include:

• Small puncture wound to the skin
• Skin swelling around the bite
• Skin tenderness around the bite

Physical findings in someone with an allergic reaction from a tarantula bite may include:

• Hives
• Skin swelling around the bite
• Facial swelling
• Wheezing
• Rapid breathing rate

Tests are not necessary to make the diagnosis of a tarantula bite.
