What is tachycardia?
An adult with tachycardia has a heart rate that is over 100 beats per minute. Common causes of tachycardia include fever, dehydration, anemia, heart disease, anxiety disorder, lung disease, and a medication side effect.

What are the symptoms of tachycardia?
Symptoms that may occur with tachycardia may include palpitations, dizziness, faintness, or fatigue. Additional symptoms may include chest pain, difficulty breathing, or fainting.

How does the doctor treat tachycardia?
Treatment for tachycardia depends on the underlying cause. Treatment may include plenty of liquids, or medications that control the heart rate. Additional treatment may include cardioversion, radiofrequency catheter ablation, and blood thinners to reduce the risk of stroke. Images
