Symptoms of a subcutaneous nodule include a lump, which may be attached to the skin or freely moveable beneath the skin. The lump may be soft, firm, tender, or painful. A subcutaneous nodule may also change the color of the overlying skin.

How does the doctor treat subcutaneous nodules?
The treatment for a subcutaneous nodule depends on the cause of the nodule. Some nodules resolve without treatment. Treatment for a subcutaneous nodule may include antibiotics, corticosteroid medications, or surgery.
