How does the doctor treat toe pain?
The treatment of toe pain depends on the underlying cause. Treatment for toe pain may include rest, cold compresses, elevation, wound care, a splint or protective shoe, crutches, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications for pain. Additional treatment may include physical therapy, surgery, or antibiotics for a skin infection.
