Snakebite Home Care: Warning Signs
Notify your doctor if you have a snakebite and any of the following:
Excessive salivation
Worsening
diarrhea
Worsening
vomiting
Difficulty breathing
Difficulty swallowing
Difficulty walking
Facial swelling
Arm swelling
Leg swelling
Loss of vision
Inability to walk
Poor balance
Persistent bleeding
Easy bleeding
Bleeding gums
Nosebleeds
Hematuria
:
Blood in the urine
Red or pink urine
Vomiting blood
Pus draining from the bite wound
Fever
over 101 degrees F (38.3 C)
Red streaks spreading away from the wound:
Lymphangitis
of the arm
Lymphangitis
of the back of the leg
Lymphangitis
of the hand from a finger wound
Worsening skin redness and pain at the bite:
Cellulitis
