What are the symptoms of hidradenitis suppurativa?
Symptoms of hidradenitis suppurativa include painful, swollen sweat glands under the arm or in the groin. Additional symptoms include skin redness, skin tenderness, and pus draining from the glands.
How does the doctor treat hidradenitis suppurativa?
Treatment for hidradenitis suppurativa may include skin cleansing, antibiotics, oral contraceptives for women, isotretinoin, and oral corticosteroids. Severe cases of hydradenitis suppurativa may require surgery.
