A person with a sinus headache usually has a dull, throbbing headache, which worsens with head movement, sneezing or coughing. The location of the pain from a sinus headache is located near the face: around the forehead or eyes.

Sinus headaches occur when the sinuses become congested and swollen.

Sinus headaches may be triggered by:

• Sinusitis
• Allergic rhinitis

Treatment of a sinus headache is directed at relieving the underlying cause for inflamed, congested sinuses.
