There are two main types of shoulder dislocation:
Anterior shoulder dislocation
:
The humerus lies in front of the scapula.
This is the most common type of shoulder dislocation.
Posterior shoulder dislocation
:
The humerus lies behind the scapula.
This dislocation is uncommon.
