Sexual Dysfunction Male NPT Testing
Nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT) is a useful test to help determine the cause of impotence.
Normally, erections occur during sleep. This is called nocturnal penile tumescence. Each night, the average of length of time that NPT occurs is 100 minutes. NPT can be measured with a special instrument attached to the penis.
If nocturnal erections occur, then the cause of impotence is more likely to be psychological instead of physical.
