Secondary Tooth Avulsion Types
Types of secondary tooth avulsions include:
  • Partial tooth avulsion:
    • Tooth is still in the socket, but is out of normal position
  • Total or complete tooth avulsion:
    • Tooth is knocked out of the socket
    • This usually involves a fracture of the bone surrounding the tooth root.
    • Tooth avulsions also damage the ligaments and nerves to the teeth.
