Scorpion Bites Underlying Cause
The venom from the scorpion sting causes irritation to the skin. The venom from a poisonous scorpion may cause serious symptoms, including an allergic reaction. Most scorpions in the US contain small amounts of venom that will not harm humans. Some species of scorpion in Arizona have poisonous venom that can affect the central nervous system, but these reactions are very rare.
The more poisonous scorpions include the:
- Arizona Bark scorpion
- Yellow scorpion
