A child with a rash has a change in the color or texture of the skin. Rashes may be localized to one area of the body or generalized, where they are located in several areas of the body.

Rashes may also be:

• Hive-like
• Red
• Raised or flat
• Blistery
• Peeling and scaling
• Crusted or coated with pus
