Common names:
A person with pseudogout has a kind of arthritis that causes episodes of inflammation of the large joints, which result in joint pain and swelling. This is caused by the build-up of calcium containing crystals in the joints. Gout is a similar condition, but causes a build-up of uric acid crystals in the joints.
