Primary Tooth Avulsion Types
Types of primary tooth avulsions include:
Partial
tooth avulsion
:
Tooth is still in the socket, but is out of normal position
Total or complete
tooth avulsion
:
Tooth is knocked out of the socket
This usually involves a fracture of the bone surrounding the tooth root.
Tooth avulsions also damage the ligaments and nerves to the teeth.
