What is presbycusis?
A person with presbycusis has progressive loss of hearing that normally occurs with aging. Presbycusis begins after age 60 and tends to be worse in men. Those with presbycusis have more difficulty hearing high pitched sounds than low pitched sounds.

Symptoms of presbycusis include difficulty understanding speech and difficulty discriminating one sound from another. Symptoms of presbycusis are worse in a noisy environment.
