• Uterine contractions
• Ruptured membranes:
• Amniotic fluid leaking from the vagina

Tests that may be used to evaluate premature labor include:

• Pregnancy ultrasound
• Complete blood count
• Kidney profile
• Fetal monitoring
• Urinalysis
• Vaginal cultures for Gonorrhea, and chlamydia
• Vaginal cultures for group B strep
