A woman with postpartum cardiomyopathy has weakening of the heart that may occur during pregnancy, or after delivery. Postpartum cardiomyopathy causes congestive heart failure. Symptoms include cough, fatigue, leg swelling, and difficulty breathing with exertion and when lying flat.
