A person with pityriasis rosea has a common skin rash that tends to occur in the spring and fall. The rash is usually causes pink oval patches on the skin. The rash is usually itchy and many cover both the trunk and extremities. Images

The rash is not infectious, but may by triggered by a viral infection.
