Parvovirus Infection Pregnancy
The greatest risk of erythema infectiosum is to a fetus in a pregnant women. Birth defects may occur if the fetus is infected during pregnancy. If a pregnant woman is exposed to a child with erythema infectiosum, then she should see her OB-GYN doctor as soon as possible.
