Parkinson's Disease Symptoms
The initial symptoms of Parkinson's disease include:
  • Tremor:
    • Worse while at rest
    • Improves during movement
    • May worsen during times of stress
    • Usually begins in a hand, but may begin in the foot or the jaw
    • Usually starts in one location, then progresses to other locations
  • Pill-rolling tremor:
    • Rhythmic back-and-forth motion of the thumb and forefinger
  • Slow movement
  • Muscle stiffness:
    • Limbs are resistant to stretching
  • Cogwheel rigidity:
    • Muscles jerk repeatedly when they are stretched
