How does the doctor treat pancreatitis?
Treatment for pancreatitis includes a clear liquid diet, intravenous fluids, narcotic pain medications, medications to control vomiting, medications that reduce the production of stomach acid, and antibiotics. Rarely, surgery is required to treat chronic pancreatitis.
