Painful Anus after Injury Treatment
The treatment for an anal injury depends on the severity of the injury. Small lacerations and bruises require minor wound care or cold compresses, and usually heal within 7 to 10 days. Severe injuries can result in serious bleeding because the anus and rectum have a rich blood supply. Surgery may be required to repair severely damaged tissue. During recovery, using a donut pillow will help relieve pain while sitting.
