A person with Osgood Schlatter disease has pain and inflammation of the tibial tubercle. The tibial tubercle is a boney prominence in the front of the knee, just below the kneecap. Images

Osgood Schlatter disease occurs primarily in teenagers. About 10 percent of teenage male and female athletes develop Osgood Schlatter disease.
