What is nausea and vomiting?
A person with nausea and vomiting has an involuntary reflex that forcefully empties the stomach, as well as the sensation that vomiting may occur.

What are the symptoms of nausea and vomiting?
Symptoms that occur with nausea and vomiting include abdominal pain, diarrhea, fever, lightheadedness, rapid pulse, excessive sweating, dry mouth, and decreased urination. Serious symptoms that can occur with nausea and vomiting include chest pain, fainting, vomiting blood, confusion, and lethargy.

How does the doctor treat nausea and vomiting?
Treatment for nausea and vomiting depends on the underlying cause. Treatment may include a clear liquid diet, full liquid diet, medications to control nausea, and intravenous fluids.
