Nasal Bone Fracture Evaluation
The evaluation of a nasal bone fracture begins with a medical history and physical examination. Images

Physical findings in someone with a nasal bone fracture may include:
  • Nosebleed
  • Inability to breathe through the nostrils
  • Septal hematoma:
    • A blood clot in the wall that separates the two sides of the nose
  • Deformed nose Images
  • Facial tenderness
  • Facial swelling
  • Facial bruise Images
  • Crepitus:
    • Crunching sensation caused by air beneath the skin around the nose
  • Severe tenderness over the nose
Testing may be required to evaluate a nasal bone fracture.
