Muscle Strain of the Hamstring Underlying Cause
Hamstring strains are caused by overloading the hamstring muscles beyond their capacity. The muscles are unable to support the load and the muscle fibers stretch or tear. Common causes of hamstring strain include sports that involve sprinting or jumping.
