Multiple Myeloma Definition

  • Multiple Myeloma
A person with multiple myeloma has cells in the bone marrow that are multiplying out of control. The cells, called plasma cells, are blood cells that help fight infection. Images

The over production of plasma cells can interrupt the normal production of other blood cells in the bone marrow. Multiple myeloma can lead to anemia, kidney failure, bleeding and loss of bone strength.
