Mucocutaneous Lymph Node Syndrome Underlying Cause
The cause of Kawasaki disease is unknown. Most experts believe that Kawasaki disease may be caused by a malfunctioning immune system, which normally fights infection. The immune system may mistakenly attack normal tissue, causing inflammation and irritation.
