What is a miscarriage?
A woman with a miscarriage has spontaneously loss of a fetus prior to the 20th week of pregnancy. A woman with habitual miscarriage has had a miscarriage with 3 consecutive pregnancies. Fortunately, more than 80 percent of women who suffer two spontaneous miscarriages do not have another miscarriage, but experience a normal pregnancy and delivery. What are the symptoms of a miscarriage?
Initial symptoms of miscarriage include vaginal spotting and cramping lower abdominal pain. This may progress to heavy vaginal bleeding, which may also include passing blood clots or tissue from the vagina.

How does the doctor treat a miscarriage?
Treatment for a miscarriage may include bedrest, a RhoGAM injection, and dilation and curettage.
