What is a medulloblastoma?
A person with medulloblastoma has a growth of abnormal cells in the brain that multiply out of control. These cells can form tumors and spread to other parts of the body. Brain tumors can cause swelling around the brain, causing it to malfunction. About one quarter of brain tumors in children are medulloblastomas. The cause of medulloblastoma is unknown, but genetics may play a role in determining risk.

Symptoms of a medulloblastoma may include chronic headaches, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, confusion, loss of memory, and difficulty walking. Other symptoms include localized numbness or weakness, change in vision, and seizures.
