What is lymphadenitis?

Lymph gland swelling and tenderness are the most common symptoms of lymphadenitis. Additional symptoms of lymphadenitis include fever, chills, headache, and red streaks on the skin. Images

How does the doctor treat lymphadenitis?
Treatment for lymphadenitis may include rest, warm compresses, elevation, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications for pain. Additional treatment for lymphadenitis caused by a bacterial infection may include antibiotics, or surgery to remove infected tissue.
