Liver Inflammation due to Alcohol Underlying Cause
Alcoholic hepatitis is caused by alcohol. The liver helps digest and break down foods, and removes toxins from the bloodstream. Alcohol causes damage to the cells in the liver, which results in inflammation of the liver. Over time, the alcohol can destroy the liver cells.
