Lice Evaluation
The evaluation of lice begins with a history and physical exam.

Physical findings in someone with lice may include:
  • Lice: Images
    • Tiny gray-white insects visible in the hair or on clothing
  • Nits: Images
    • Tiny, hard, white eggs firmly attached to the hair shafts
  • Skin redness
Tests are not necessary to make the diagnosis of lice.
